	Speed Eave has been recognised as a finalist in the 2007 Engineering Excellence Awards, Engineers Australia Newcastle Division. The Engineering Excellence Awards is an event that celebrates excellence in engineering within the Newcastle province. The themes for for the 2007 awards were leadership, performance, planning and execution. There were 19 finalists spanning many disciplines of engineering all of which underwent a rigorous judging process.
	Speed Eave has won the inaugural Building on Bright Ideas Award to celebrate innovation and acknowledge Hunter Innovation Advisory Service clients and their ‘bright ideas’. Coastal Innovations presented the invention before a panel of industry experts including government representatives, engineers, architects, patent attorneys and marketing executives. The judges recognised the extensive contribution that Speed Eave technology will have for not only fibre cement eaves, but all types of panel joining including gymnasiums, caravans, walls, garages, windows, concrete panels, not only in Australia, but overseas. The judges saw this technology as an export earner for Australia.
	SpeedEave was featured in the IDC News in the Summer of 2006 to highlight the achievement of the Building on Bright Ideas Award by Coastal Innovations.
